Don Picker of ATP demonstrates the Aerial Rescue Technique. This Module of training is designed for anyone who is interested in safety and understands the dangers associated with climbing. The training will include a thorough discussion of options for tools and rope applications to apply in a climbing rescue scenario. A special Certificate of Participation will be awarded each attendee which can be used to verify training experience when applying to the Certified Tree Worker/Climber Specialist (CTW) exam and skills-climb program. AR training along with CPR & first aid are all prerequisites to sitting for the CTW exam and skills-climb. Each participant will receive a well outlined pamphlet in English and Chinese, “Guidelines For Aerial Rescue AR and the Incapacitated Climber.” ATP climbers will climb in the tree and rescue attendees to provide close-up and hands on experience. Don Picker is presently the Chair of the International Safety Committee (ISC) for the ISA and desires to make sure that every climber can climb safe and be prepared to save the life of a fellow climber in distress.

This Module will always be price reduced to make it more readily available to anyone who wants to attend and promote safety.

This Module can be arranged for groups who are seeking to sit for the CTW and can be designed for half-day and whole-day lengths depending on the numbers of attendees. This Module ATP will sometimes be offered in combination with BTC: Basic Tree Climbing Module ATP, ATC: Advanced Tree Climbing Module ATP, BTR: Basic Tree rigging ATP, ATR: Advanced Tree Rigging ATP, and TCP: Tree Care Practices Modules ATP as an aspect of safety.

ATP believes in the "ART" of aerial rescue and is prepared to provide this training for any smaller group upon request at short notice in order to make fellow climbers safe, healthy and confident.

NOTE:

Advanced High Angle Rescue module is under construction; coming soon (two day)

ATP intends to cooperate with other professionals in the area of safety especially and will attempt to bring highly experienced people with years of practical experience to Asia soon.  Example of Course Offered by Scott Prophet; “designed to educate tree climbers and/or aerial lift operators in the most likely scenarios where they may have to respond to an emergency. Emphasis is on emergency preparedness, readiness and accident prevention. The importance of self-rescue strategies and understanding the ‘working alone’ definition reinforces the importance of emergency readiness. Participants are educated in the truths about tree work accidents and fatalities, information based on arborist statistics and industry reviews provide the basis for the specific rescue techniques trained and practiced. Participants are educated in key terms and definitions relating to rope parts, knots, hitches and specialized equipment. Physics concepts such as reaction force and potential energy associated with various rope rescue systems and configurations complete this comprehensive course.” Don Picker is the Chair of the International Safety Committee (ISC) for the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and is leading a research study of comparisons of safety standards in the industry world –wide. Scott Prophet is another ISC member and very interested in the safety of tree workers. Please consider inviting ATP to bring ISC members to Asia in order to share from a vast wealth of experience and expertise in order to increase awareness and enhance the potential for the establishment of safety standards and real safe conditions.
