Modern Ground Operations Module ATP

& Aerial Support Module ATP

This course is designed to train tree worker support staff to understand the very important role they play in overall job site safety and accident prevention. In addition to clean up, disposal of brush and wood, they are responsible for assisting climbers in very technical and serious rigging, removal and pruning operations. In addition to understanding the needs for productive operations the groundperson must fully appreciate the climber’s challenges and limitations. There is a saying that a good climber is a good groundperson when it comes to tree removal. In this module the trainees will handle a wide variety of rigging devices and tools and ropes and discuss dynamics and working loads and limitations in operations. The groundperson will also provided the opportunity to experience what the climber goes through while entering a tree to maneuver and positioning for work.  A strong focus on risk management, safe and ergonomic work practices is demonstrated and practiced in this course.

ATP is prepared to provide this training and also include an assessment of workers to determine levels of competency and safety in ground operations in rope rigging and chainsaw handling.
