Storm Preparation Consulting
In the mainland of the United States they are known as thunder storms and tornadoes while in other parts of the world they are called cyclones and typhoons. Where ever they are located trees are often damaged by severe weather systems from one season to another.
It is the job of the professional arborist to inspect trees both before and after severe weather systems to ensure their continuing healthy condition and safety to the public. Many potential accidents caused by trees breaking or falling can be avoided with the expert eye and inspection of the trained and experienced arborist.
ATP can provide services to inspect trees in the urban environment and recommend storm preparation and precautionary measures to avoid damage and injury. From mere years of experience in dealing with trees after wind damage the arborists of ATP can predict potential damage by understanding the growing conditions and structure of trees in the environment. It is not uncommon for an arborist to view a tree or group of trees and report to the public or local authorities the potential damage that may occur given a particular wind pattern.
ATP arborists have experience with working for utility companies following a severe storm both in the Mainland of the USA, Hawaii, and Hong Kong. Training has been provided to the power company workers of Hong Kong in preparation for a “super-typhoon” condition. Training has even been conducted just following a typhoon in order to provide the best possible realistic working preparations. Utility Vegetation Management (VM) requires special experience to perform work around high voltage power lines and ATP has this experience. Working with utility companies in Minnesota, Illinois, New York and Asia ATP arborists have personally faced the most severe conditions and can provide high level training for power company employee crews. Support systems can be applied to trees that are valuable and need preservation against storm conditions.
